Navigating data integration in today’s complex data landscape is never simple. With compliance and security requirements continually evolving, and data sources expanding, keeping everything running smoothly without disruption is a challenge across any industry. For many organizations—from regulated sectors to those with high data security needs—Pentaho serves as critical infrastructure, supporting the needs of business teams across various functions.

Our latest version of Pentaho Data Integration provides stability, adaptability, and a renewed focus on providing tools that teams (especially in regulated industries) need to move forward with confidence.

Enhancements and Plugins That Drive Data Integration Forward

Starting with 10.2, every point release is a long-term support (LTS) release, providing a stable foundation that customers can rely on for years. But stability doesn’t mean being static. Our strategy is to deliver new capabilities through a plugin model, allowing teams to adopt features without needing to upgrade the entire platform. It’s about evolving systems while avoiding disruptive change.

We have been regularly releasing new features as independent plugins, letting customers install and validate them separately from their core engine. Going forward, this will include enhancements for Business Analytics Server and the Data Integration engine (Kettle). This approach enables customers to innovate at their own pace—easily adapting to new business needs without revalidating the entire environment.

As part of our refocus and the Pentaho+ branding, we’ve renewed our portfolio to also include Pentaho Data Catalog, Pentaho Data Quality, and Pentaho Data Optimizer. Together with Pentaho Data Integration and Pentaho Business Analytics, these tools provide a comprehensive, integrated platform for data governance, quality, optimization, and reliability – helping organizations consolidate their technology choices and simplify data operations.

 Deploy Anywhere

Pentaho’s commitment to flexibility extends beyond 10.2 – it’s part of our ongoing strategy. Whether a customer needs to deploy in containers, virtual machines (cloud or on-premises), or traditional servers, Pentaho has it covered. This flexibility enables teams to run in hybrid environments, seamlessly migrating data workflows between on-premises and cloud using a single platform.

When deployment needs change, existing knowledge, skills, and business rules move alongside, reducing the time, cost, and risk of transitions. It’s a key advantage for organizations seeking to modernize while preserving the expertise they’ve built over time.

A Future-Proof Data Integration Strategy

Deploying Pentaho in containers allows teams to test updates and new features alongside their current setup, validate changes, and migrate workflows gradually. This makes it easier to adapt to new requirements or regulations without risking downtime or disruption – whether running on-premises, in the cloud, or across a hybrid environment.

With Pentaho+ 10.2 and beyond, customers get a balance of stability and innovation. Long-term support provides the reliability teams need, while the ability to add new features through plugins keeps data integration processes ready for whatever comes next.

With our visual pipeline design for data integration (vs. those who rely on code generation, custom code orchestration or point solutions) we allow customers to preserve existing workflows while adding new integration capabilities without escalating costs. It’s a streamlined and cost-efficient way to build on what customers already have, allowing them to focus on extracting value from data rather than maintaining custom scripts.

Whether it’s integrating AI-driven insights, scaling infrastructure for cloud-native deployments, or enhancing data governance to meet new regulatory requirements, we’re continuously evolving our platform in partnership with industry needs and customer feedback.
